I have taken my student loan debt of 20 years to a lawyer.  The lawyer immediately demanded 5,000.00 up front before they even told me if I had a chance.  Now they have asked me to account for my income and expenses for the last 20 years.  Who keeps receipts for every transaction for 20 years?  I have kept most of my bank books, statements etc, for 20 years but not all my bills, and places I have called have purged them.  I have spent the last 3 weeks keying in and analyzing, every statement, every transaction for the last 20 years.  I have transactions and withdrawals I don't know what they are.  In 2001, I did a consumer proposal which was agreed and signed Oct 2001 exactly 5 years and 4 months after graduation.  The proposal was completed 5 years later.  1 year afterwards student loans commenced collection.  I have been looking after my mother who has alzheimer's from 2007 and full time since  2009.  I am so frustrated and feeling like a piece of trash, especially now that everyone in this small town probably knows all the details of my life through the printing office.
