I really dont know whats happening with it now??
John in his magic way made a couple a calls while i was on the phone with him..... and POOF i got a call from collect corp appologizing for thier error.. kinda funny actually
I guess Im still on collect corps hit list or at least on the auto dial list I still get at least once a week a voice message to call a 1 -800 # but I just ignore it and they never call in person. I actually got a letter about a week ago from there lawyer saying BNS had authorized them to resolve my issues with a debt reduction promise of up to 80% ... good luck "Mr lawyer".
I would have paid this debt gladly if i would have been able to reap the benefits of and education but unfourtunatly the school I was to attend went bankrupt before I could attend even my first day!!!
I Am very thankful that i listened to the advise on this forum and that JOHN At CFW , was there to help me. I cannot thank him enough. IF anyone out ther is struggleing with debt wether its s/l or consumer John is the man I recommend
Thanks Again Johnny

Hi Cargo,
The debt is actually barred. The only reason it still sits where it does is because it had been "purchased". The account is off of active recovery and sits on a predictive dialer desk at the moment. No one is really working on it it at the collection end.
I will contact someone at BNS directly for you. First, you have to issue me a power of attorney and consent to do this as we did before. Call me tomorrow (Saturday) and I will put this to rest for you once and for all.
The problem is that the bank has not addressed the debt as barred. The agency knows it is but the bank has to close it down - Unless it is a purchased account. If so, then the agency bought the debt which is uncollectable. ha ha ha .
Call me tomorrow on my cell/

Statute Barred debt means that the debt is no longer legally collectable providing it has a limitation period attached to it.
For Crown debt ()CSLP), the limitation period is 6 years without payment or acknowledgment. Oncew 6 years has passed without any acknowlegment from the borrower, the debt is barred - but not closed. It still remains but is inactive until you a) acknowledge the debt aftewr the fact, and; b) re-apply for more student funding fromt he government(s). These two things will cause the debt to survive the statutes.
