Where you one of the ones that said,
" From your financial statement that I have in front of me....I can see that you don't have any money at all....my calling you in only a technicality...I'll post in my notes that you were not at home today.....throw this file in the black-hole , take your name off the auto-dailer........you should expect relief from hassling calls for the next six months....when someone will call to have you fill out another financial questionairre...so that we can keep your debt alive... .indefinitely.........but for the time being I know you need the money more than I do.........please keep it..... I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight if I knew your kids belly was grumbling....and I were full from a T-bone steak that I bought from the commission on your debt."
Is this the nice kind of Student Loan Collector you were ??? Please feel free to explain.......how nice you were.......we are all ears ???

What exactly were the rules and regulations did the agency that you worked for teach you in handling student loans?

Did the HRDC or HRSDC provide you with guidelines to follow? If so how closely were these directives taken seriously and complied with? Thanks

Here area few questions:
1. What agency did you work for?
2. Informative advice givers that do so without transparency may have something to hide. What is your name? Tell us who you are.
3. Why did you leave the business?
4. What are the three PCA directives that are most commonly breeched by third-party collector(s)?
5. What is "consumer Credit" by definition?

Rules and regulations were only the collections act of ontario. No direction from HRDC.
Basically, get payment in full, make a settlement, or get monthly payments.
I would prefer to remain anon as I am sure you know, collectors sometimes troll this board, and it would not be beneficial to me. Johnny, you have my email address, if you wish to contact me directly.
I left the business for a better job.
Most common breaches, I would say, threatening action that cannot be done, deadlining settlements that could be extended longer, nothing much else. At lease in the conpany i worked. I did hear from debtors about horror stories at other agencies, collecting other part of loan.

This is extremely interesting if it applies to other agencies. It would be a strong basis for a class action suit. Members of Parliament introduce, draft and pass legislation. The various ministries then develop protocol and directives to comply with the legislation. These have to be followed for the law to be complied with. There are specific provisions and directives for student loan debt as well as the general provisions for debt. If HRDC was not providing third party collectors with the specific directives for student loan debt or enforcing them then they have broken the law big time.
Another question is what determined if an account was returned to HRDC as uncollectable if there are/were no directives?

4mer,

I am not following you. I know that collectors, bank reps, CRA and HRDC reps, Justice's CLAS para-legals and executives, etc. troll this forum all of the time. What do you mean by "it is not beneficial" to you? You say that you are no longer in the business. Why would you even care?
Secondly, I do not know who you are. The only email addresses I have are for those who I know. How can I contact you directly if I do not know who you are or how to contact you directly? There is no transparency here.
