This website is a testimony to the problems Canadian Student Loan borrowers experienced from approximately 1996 to 2008 and until their loans were paid off.

The privatization of the Student Loans system by the Chretien and Martin Liberal governments broke the system and defaulted thousands of borrowers who were trying to pay their loans. There were even stories of suicide due to the harassment of borrowers.

Read the report that I prepared back in 2007 here. Canada Student Loans-The Need for Change Fortunately the new Conservative government at the time revamped the program and fixed the system for new borrowers, but borrowers under the previous program were left with ruined credit and continued harassment from debt collectors.

I call on the Canadian Government to apologize to the borrowers affected by this fiasco and make amends.

Unfortunately the Liberal government is again clobbering the Education system with their upcoming changes to International Student Visas. Yes, there's a problem, but instead of a well thought out plan, they have pulled the emergency brake on the train causing a derailment. This has introduced unprecedented instability for both private and public education institutions who serve both international and local students.

Universities can't plan. I've heard of courses being cut because the government has no process in place for universities to send the newly required acceptance letters to the government.

This means that students who have been accepted can not attend courses that start in the summer 2024 semester. With cut sections, current Canadian students will have trouble getting courses, and may have to switch to part-time which changes their enrollment status and might trigger repayment of their loans or ineligibility for funding. I've seen this before. It wreaks havoc on the student loan borrowers.

Again, the Liberal government has messed up the education environment. Will the new system needed in a rush for the acceptance letters be the new Arrivecan scandal?

I call on the government to implement a slower phased in approach and delay the requirement of the acceptance letters until a process is in place to submit these letters.

John LeBlanc gave me back my life … because I was patient

Even though this runs a tad long, please read fully – it can save your life from the nightmare known as student debt – at least for those who are not trying to scam the ‘system’ but are genuinely trying to resolve their debt burden so they can get their life back.

Like many here, my story started with alleged university student debt that due to hardship and negative circumstances quickly ballooned into a $40,000 nightmare.

After years of battling collection agencies and a veritable army of agents, government representatives, and others, I finally found John LeBlanc and the CFW Group.

To be honest, by this time, I was so suspicious of anyone I came in contact with regarding my situation, that I fully expected I would get the same treatment by John as I had by others.

Boy, was I surprised by John! From our very first conversation on the phone, John made me understand my situation, and therefore made me feel in control for the first time since my nightmare began. He explained things to me clearly, and immediately I knew that John was someone who knew what he was talking about. I felt that he was genuine about wanting to help me sort my alleged debt problem.

John not only explained things to me in detail, but more importantly he gave me options. Now I knew what I could (or could not) do, and he promised to help. He sympathized with my plight and felt that I needed help. We agreed on the way forward, and John set to work.

You can imagine my initial surprise and subsequent gratitude when the collection agency calls stopped and for the first time in years, I was able to breathe without someone from some collection agency breathing down my neck. But this was not all - unfortunately, despite the easing of this sort of horrible pressure from the collection agencies, there was still the monster of an alleged debt that had ballooned to close to $40,000.

Over time, I began to panic. I would call John time and time again, but I was never negative, I never pushed him, or complained. John understood and fielded my concerns and he supported me with words of encouragement – sometimes during those calls, we would chat about our troubles, worries, lives. We began to know each other and I felt that John was someone I could trust.

But still, despite his reassuring advice, I felt trapped, I felt that one day soon, the nightmare would close in on me and I would finally drown. I remember my frantic call to John at the end of the summer a couple of years ago. Already, a year had passed since John had taken on my case – I could not hold the lid on my anxiety any longer.

It was then that John told me to be patient. He told me to be patient and to let him do his work and that if I managed to do this, my patience would pay off. I left him alone. Until a few days ago, when I spoke with him for the first time since that summer two years back.

Well, folks, I am glad to report that indeed, Mr. LeBlanc was true to his word. Just earlier today, almost 3 years since I first signed up with him, and with his help, I confirmed that I am clear of my alleged debt – an amount just a few dollars shy of $40,000!

This letter here is but one small token of my deepest gratitude to John and his great work which gave me back my life. If you are in any sort of similar circumstances, and if you feel as trapped as I felt when I first contacted John, I urge you to contact John and discuss with him ways in which he may be able to help you have your life back. But please, please, be patient – let John do his work, give him the time he needs, and trust him – he will help you and you will get your life back.

Lastly, I hope that you will not read this letter and think that it is some sort of made up endorsement. Everything I’ve written here is true and if you have any doubts, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to share my story, as I’ve done here.

John, I also want to take this opportunity and thank you once again for your great help and your unwavering support in my time of need. You are a true and awesome human being!

Most sincerely, your recent client,

Tom

Hi there, and congrats in your new freedom  Clap

You know, I went trough the legitimate fear of falling into another trap, too,
when I was reading on this forum to assess whether John LeBlanc and CFWGroup is a scam or for real.

Our fears are absolutely valid, in the light that most of us have been harassed, tricked, even bullied into aknowledging and paying through the nose. It's a big friggin' bulldozing machine, that we're up against.

When I felt I had read enough on this forum (many many weeks of reading), I had the bright idea to go check with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on their website, just in case there's something about John and CFWGroup. Never know, right? Just in case I'd find a tidbit.

Well, lo and behold, I found it on the BBB.

John is for real.

CFWGroup is for real.

John has helped me in a way that no one had EVER helped me before, in the 20+ years I carried this burden.

As of this week, an alleged 45K load has been lifted off my shoulders, in regards to statute of limitation.

It took me 8 years of helpless darkness before I came across this website. Finding out about the work John does, and all the people he's already helped, if that wasn't enough to convince me, I had no more doubts when I finished reading about his business on the Better Business Bureau website.

I contacted him as soon I finished reading on the BBB, and... yessss! John has resolved my issue!

Done!

I'm so exstatic I could hug everybody.LOL

I'm still somewhat in a state of shock at how amazingly and expertly John has come through for me, being the best advocate for my rights and my dignity. I'm pinching myself to check if I'm not just dreaming of freedom - but no, this is real, I'm wide awake and my wings can start spreading wide open to move on, at last.

I'm not posting the link to the Better Business Bureau; I,m gonna let you do your own googling so you can find it for yourself, so you know I'm not directing you to a bogus BBB page.

I am posting a link to another post I wrote here, though, so you can read a bit more about my success story with John's wonderful help:

You will find my post in the success stories and happy outcomes topic, by clicking the link I just posted above, or by looking it up on the Home page of this site. You'll find the success topic nearer the bottom of the Home page.

Cheers to all,

and circulate the good vibes
