This website is a testimony to the problems Canadian Student Loan borrowers experienced from approximately 1996 to 2008 and until their loans were paid off.

The privatization of the Student Loans system by the Chretien and Martin Liberal governments broke the system and defaulted thousands of borrowers who were trying to pay their loans. There were even stories of suicide due to the harassment of borrowers.

Read the report that I prepared back in 2007 here. Canada Student Loans-The Need for Change Fortunately the new Conservative government at the time revamped the program and fixed the system for new borrowers, but borrowers under the previous program were left with ruined credit and continued harassment from debt collectors.

I call on the Canadian Government to apologize to the borrowers affected by this fiasco and make amends.

Unfortunately the Liberal government is again clobbering the Education system with their upcoming changes to International Student Visas. Yes, there's a problem, but instead of a well thought out plan, they have pulled the emergency brake on the train causing a derailment. This has introduced unprecedented instability for both private and public education institutions who serve both international and local students.

Universities can't plan. I've heard of courses being cut because the government has no process in place for universities to send the newly required acceptance letters to the government.

This means that students who have been accepted can not attend courses that start in the summer 2024 semester. With cut sections, current Canadian students will have trouble getting courses, and may have to switch to part-time which changes their enrollment status and might trigger repayment of their loans or ineligibility for funding. I've seen this before. It wreaks havoc on the student loan borrowers.

Again, the Liberal government has messed up the education environment. Will the new system needed in a rush for the acceptance letters be the new Arrivecan scandal?

I call on the government to implement a slower phased in approach and delay the requirement of the acceptance letters until a process is in place to submit these letters.

Hello All!

I am a long time member of Canada Student Debt, since 2003 I believe, my situation was extremely complicated and my debt was very large. I have had major medical issues, been out of work for long spurts of time, had a botched surgery, been on disability..... while all the time raising three children and battling collection agencies who threatened me daily.

I hired John Leblanc in, 2004 and again in 2010, I can verify with absolute certainty he has done the following throughout our business relationship:

1. Kept collection agencies from haunting my every waking hour- My debt has been to every agency out there, I use to have people yell and scream at me, tell lies to my kids, and call my family frequently. Not once has John ever let me down in this department, if you have ever been harassed, the psychological relief alone is worth its weight in gold. I can remember sitting at work in tears, waiting for another call, one message to John and the collectors were done.
But the debt does go from agency to agency so don't forget that and to keep in touch with John, he was there to help me, through at least 6 different agencies!

2. Kept me Patient- If your debt is as high as mine there is no quick fix, it could take years, to get something put together. Life is busy, chaotic, and challenging so if you are like me and don't have the time or the lawyers to take a look at this for you hire John.

In my case we pursued hardship, limitations, and debt reduction as my situation kept changing. Ultimately I am so incredibly pleased with what has been decided upon now as it balances being cut off from debt reduction unfairly, the enormity of interest charges, and the last decade of health difficulties along side the greater financial security my life now offers.

I look forward to being able to post a final resolution to this in the upcoming months. To be able to know this is actually behind me after well over a decade, is priceless, should ANYONE want a more personal review about John Leblanc please feel to contact me at Laura@infuziontech.com.
