I only heard a few rantings from a accountant in a late night dinner but from what he said it seems that under the new laws Third Party Collections will not be able to function at all?  Can someone fill in the blanks for me?

I think that no gov. agency is allowed to release any
personal info to anybody unless that person
consents to it in WRITTING!
So the CA's should'nt be able to get bank info
addresses or the such until you sign a paper
allowing the release of that info. That is what I have
read. Thanks to the terrorists I guess.

yeah what this guy said was that the new privacy laws are SO INSANE  that technically no one can do there job anymore. Not even accountants because anytime anyone gives your personal information out to anyone without your expressed/written contest it is illegal as third party disclosure!!!!   However the new laws are so freakin crazy that no one is changing anything because it just ridiculous.. They are going to wait for lawsuits and see what happens as a result of the law suites.  I never made the connection with terrorism..
