I filed bankruptsy in 1995 or there about. I also claimed my student loan in the filing. Everything was discharged. I want to apply for another student loan but on the application it asks two things...1. Have you ever had a student loan before? 2. Have you ever filed bankruptsy and had your loan discharged?
I thought that once you have been discharged of all depts, and it is gone from your credit report, that you do not have to disclose to anyone? 1. Why would I have to disclose that to them & why would they be entitled when I don't have to disclose to the banks or anyone else? 2. Since when did demand, disclosure after discharge and erasure from your credit become legal?

Numerous times I have found tat the Student Loans people dont respect the laws.  There are some conditions for getting a loan regarding a previous bankruptcy... thats why the questions are there...
