I took out a Canada Student Loan in 1992 for $2990.00.
As time went by I was unable to keep making payments. In 2010 the govt took me to court and won a judgement against me.
In 20 years I have not been able to keep a tax refund,GST refund,EI settlement refund, etc.
I also declared bankruptcy in 2000 or so and was told then it should become Statutes barred but it never was.
Is there something I can do to get this to go away? They are still demanding $5900 from me when they have been paid back way more than that over the years.
No statute of limitations on this? Anything?

It depends on where the judgment was taken. If it was done so in Ontario then there may not be a limitation issue. To determine that it requires research and time.

A lot of people feel the way you do about paying the principle more times over and the debt still exists. The government's ROI is interest, and they love to collect that.

Judgement was taken in Manitoba,2010. Bankruptcy was 2001.

Then you have to look at the Manitoba limitation law to determine what the limitation period is for judgments in that province. It goes by the provincial law at this point.
