An Update. I am 61 now and was headed into the home stretch, but got terminated from my 10 year job last week. Trying to figure out how i will survive now. I am wondering what happens to severance pay, a potential EI claim and early CPP wrt student loans. I am waiting on employer to give me employment contract and termination notes to see a lawyer (severance is too low and how employable am i now really especially if there is a no compete clause in the contract). Also havent done by income tax returns in several years - starting when they gave notice that they were going to take any returns. Not smart probably but what can i say. Also, should mention that york university has senior tuition waiver over 60. I am now taking a canadian studies course - thought it might reveal why this country is so messed up. any help on filing old returns, severances, dealing with lawyers, and pension ei garnishments would be appreciated. thanks.
