Johnny,
I have a seriously messed up student loan history, it been 13yrs since ive taken out my student loan. even had a loan posted to my credit bureau that is not mine and had Equifax and Transunion launch an investigation in 2005. I was told it was removed.
When my husband and I bought our mini home in 2012, We were told that my student loans showed to have a zero balance and were listed as "written off"
At that time I had been making agreed upon monthly payments to HRSDC for 6yrs, I've continued to make payments without fail, and according to CRA I owe no interest and they have suggested I try for rehabilitation, and if I don't they are demanding bank records and pay stubs for the last 6 months.
I'm wondering since the loans are listed as written off, can they threaten me like this? what can or what should I do?
